Masada. The ancient fortress on top of a mountain was built by Herod the Great. For two years the Romans surrounded it, built a ramp up the mountain and finally were able to siege the fortress. When the Romans broke through the fortress, 900 inhabitants of Masada committed suicide.
Masada is an awesome place. The lift ride up the mountain is worth the price of admission in itself. The views of the Dead Sea from the top of the mountain are breath taking.
But I have some questions
1) if you have 2 years to come up with a plan, can't you think of something better than committing suicide?
2) why did the Romans care so much? Why spend two years for the sake of capturing 900 people?
